What�s special about this furniture is that it is build using Shorea wood.  Shorea is a tropical hardwood found and developed in Southeast Asia.  It is widely popular as an export and used frequently as an alternative to teak when a less expensive material is desired.  Although there is a price difference, that�s where it stops, as there is relatively little difference in the look presented when the two types of wood are compared.  Break them down to their simplest form and they will be almost identical.
